Asterias Beach Resort – Public Sustainability Statement
(Version 2025 – will be updated annually)
Asterias Beach Resort Sustainability & Community Report
Asterias Beach Resort has assessed its environmental and social impact and is continuously working to minimise the impact of our operations. One of our main goals is to obtain the Travelife certification for the 2025 season, as well as to successfully complete all HACCP certifications. We are committed to reducing our greenhouse gas emissions and protecting and promoting biodiversity. To this end, we have set ourselves the goal of significantly reducing our emissions from energy, water and waste consumption. Until the end of the year, water consumption will be continuously monitored and the results will be analysed to derive further improvement measures.
We encourage our valued guests, employees and visitors to support us by following the instructions posted throughout the hotel to save water and energy and reduce waste.
We are committed to respecting and protecting human rights. We believe that every person should be treated fairly and with respect. As part of this commitment, we regularly train our employees on the topic of discrimination prevention.
In addition, we are committed to the well-being of children and young people. It is our policy to always report suspected cases of child exploitation or abuse to the relevant authorities. Emergency numbers:
• Police (emergency): 100
• European emergency number: 112 (24/7, multilingual)
• Rhodes Town Local Police Station: +30 22410 27506
A recent guest survey showed a high level of satisfaction with our service – with an average rating of 4.5/5 points. A large proportion of our guests rated our service as "excellent" (58%) or "very good" (37%).
This feedback is a testament to the commitment and professionalism of our employees – one of our greatest strengths.
For 2025 and the years to come, we are focusing on supporting the local community and implementing additional sustainable activities:
• Annual beach cleaning campaigns with our team: Each employee donates at least one hour of work, which corresponds to a total of around 10 working days of a municipal employee.
• Despite our own cleaning measures, we continue to pay municipal taxes of around €10,000 annually for street cleaning, garbage collection and public services.
• In collaboration with the Archbishop of Rhodes, our hotels have been providing 150 meals a day to those in need for the past four years .
• We regularly donate bed linen and towels that no longer meet our hotel standards but are in good condition for further use.
• Annual food donations to the Chronic Diseases Health Centre in Kolymbia.
• Blood donation days in our hotel, which can be attended by employees, management and guests.
• We encourage visits to local historical, archaeological and cultural sites to support the local community and the preservation of Greek cultural heritage.
Further information can be found at our reception or in our information exhibition in the foyer.
If you would like to support our commitment to the community, you will find a donation box at the reception.
Sincerely,
The Management of Asterias Beach Resort
